Badgers Pull Out Close 68-67 Victory Over Rival Minnesota

After yet another hard-fought and close contest game, the Wisconsin Badgers came out on top with a 68-67 victory over the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

With just over two minutes remaining in the game, Badgers star guard Johnny Davis fouled out. Replacing him was his twin brother, Jordan Davis, and the powers of twin telepathy are real as Jordan was able to have a real positive impact on the game in those final minutes. Davis contributed seven points, a pair of rebounds, an assist, and his strong defense led to a couple steals.

Johnny Davis had a bit of an off night, going just 3-of-9 from the field and finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Steven Crowl led the way for the Badgers, scoring 20 points, just his second 20 point game this season. Tyler Wahl also added 12 points while Brad Davison had seven.

Jamison Battle led the scoring for Minnesota with 17 points.

This was an important win for Wisconsin, not only to keep pace with Purdue and Illinois atop the Big Ten Standings, but also because their roster was short for this game as backup guards Lorne Bowman and Jahcobi Neath were unavailable for this game. Bowman was out with an illness while Neath was serving his one-game suspension for his role in the post-game brawl with Michigan last Sunday.

Wisconsin improves to 22-5 on the season and 13-4 in Big Ten play.

Next up for the Badgers is a trip to New Jersey to take on Rutgers on Saturday, February 26th at 5 PM.
