Chris Simms: Ben Roethlisberger is Not a Top 10 Quarterback

Dan Patrick: “You had a top 10 quarterback list last week and Ben Roethlisberger was not on your top 10?”

Chris Simms: “Big Ben is playing awesome, there is no doubt about that… Big Ben is amazing, but I left him out is because he’s on a really good team. We know he’s got great weapons and he’s got a defense that is unbelieve. A lot of these other quarterbacks I’ve got in the top 10, the game is dictated by the quarterback. Their team is built around what they can do, and they apply pressure on teams through their quarterback… He’s had some underwhelming performances, he has the defense to sit there and create plays, he can take his time, it looks ugly, and then he can get a feel in the third quarter of what he’s doing, and hits some big plays. It’s amazing, I’m not trying to disrespect him, I have a ton of respect for him, but no, I do not think he’s one of the ten best in the game right now… The other guys in the top 10 have far less help around them, they’re capable of making a lot more happen on their own off schedule, and that’s where I don’t look at him being top tier anymore.”

Listen to former NFL quarterback Chris Simms join The Dan Patrick Show to explain why he didn’t have Ben Roethlisberger ranked on his top 10 quarterbacks list of 2020.
