Help Wanted: The Packers need someone to step up as No. 2 WR

Opposite Davante Adams, the Green Bay Packers are in need of someone to step into the number two role, and it's on the younger receivers on the team to seize the opportunity, or send the Packers looking elsewhere for help.

Jason Perone of Cheesehead TV takes a look at the position and wonders if the Packers need playmaking help at wide receiver:

Might the Packers look for a veteran free agent option to add a pass catcher? They could, but there aren't many to choose from. Despite reports that Dez Bryant listed the Packers as a team that he wants to play for, don't hold your breath. Bryant hasn't played a meaningful snap of football in well over a year and by now, most of us know that he doesn't catch much at Lambeau Field.

Could general manager Brian Gutekunst try to trade for a receiver before the deadline next month? Sure, but again, don't spend too much time working through possible scenarios. Gute doesn't like to part with prime draft capital and it's not like the Packers are lacking receiver depth.

Right now, it's most likely that the team and head coach Matt LaFleur rely on Rodgers to work things out and spread the ball around. Make the other receivers an option that opposing defenses can't ignore as they roll more coverage towards Adams.
