What will Matt LaFleur's impact be on Aaron Rodgers?

After working with top quarterbacks such as Matt Ryan and Jared Goff in recent years, what impact will the hiring of Matt LaFleur have on Aaron Rodgers?

For those who believe LaFleur will be a positive impact, they cite his experience in coaching franchise quarterbacks and the success those players have had in taking a step up from past production. For Rodgers, after two injury-plagued years that have seen his numbers take a hit, a return to form could boost the Packers from also-ran to playoff contender.

Also worth noting is that his offenses get away from the dink-and-dunk strategy that's a staple of the Bill Walsh/West Coast offenses that dominated the NFL for over two decades, and favor big 'chunk' plays and setting those plays up over the course of a game, much like the current top offenses in the NFL.

Detractors of the hire cite LaFleur's most recent body of work (a bottom-half offense with Tennessee, which lost the final game of the regular season and missed the playoffs), which includes work with the Titans' stable of quarterbacks. There's also the lack of prior head coaching experience and LaFleur's age (39) in those arguments.

Some wonder also about whether or not Aaron Rodgers will listen to a coach who is only four years older than Rodgers.

The hiring is expected to be made official later this week.
