Marquette Clinches Share Of Big East Title With 90-84 Win Over DePaul

For the first time since 2012-2013, the tenth-ranked Marquette Golden Eagles have clinched at least a share of the Big East title with their 90-84 win over DePaul on Saturday night.

Eleven made three-pointers in the first half led Marquette to a 49-28 halftime lead. Kam Jones made six of those three-point baskets.

DePaul made things interesting in the second half. They started the half with a 15-8 run to cut the Marquette lead to 14. With about 3 minutes remaining, DePaul cut the deficit to six points at 78-72. However, the Golden Eagles got a big basket from Tyler Kolek on a rebound to regain an eight point lead. They sustained at least a two possession lead over the Blue Demons the rest of the way en route to the 90-84 win.

Jones and Tyler Kolek led the Golden Eagles with 22 points.

The Marquette Golden Eagles have two games remaining in the regular season. Next, they travel to Butler on Tuesday at 5:30pm.
