D.J. Carton to be immediately eligible for Marquette

Incoming Marquette transfer guard D.J. Carton will be immediately eligible to play for the Marquette Golden Eagles this winter. Carton played in 20 games last year for Ohio State, where he averaged 10.4 points per game.

Marquette men's basketball made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

Carton entered the transfer portal this spring, leaving the Buckeyes after taking a leave of absence in January citing personal reasons.

Carton will have three seasons of eligibility remaining, As a recruit, Carton was a consensus top-50 prospect nationally, ranking among the top handful of guards in the nation.
