I've been in radio for almost 30 years and most of that in music radio. Since moving to talk, Jay knowing my background, has asked me to pick out all the music we play. I try to mix pop, country and oldies and occasionally theme music. (some of which he can't stand) Earlier in the week, he asked me to find some good Irish music that didn't sound like a "Lucky Charms" commercial. Well, with the help of listeners we found some gems. I've posted the ones we used this week below. Enjoy, in the meantime...
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ST. PATRICK’S DAY
60 percent of Americans plan to celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year, which happens to be the fourth most popular drinking day in America, behind only New Year's Eve, Christmas and the Fourth of July.
$5.9 billion will be spent -- and 13 million pints of Guinness will be served.
Cabbage shipments increase 70 percent in the week leading up to the big day, with over 30 percent of Americans celebrating by preparing a traditional Irish meal.
