Brewers Pummel The Reds 18-4 behind Rowdy’s Record Setting Night

Rowdy Tellez told reporters last weekend against the Cubs that this team had a lot of confidence at the plate…and he might have been speaking moreso for himself.

Rowdy Tellez hit two home runs (including a grand slam) and drove in a franchise record eight runs, as the Brewers beat the Reds 18-4 on Wednesday night at AmFam Field.

Wong added a home run, McCutchen was 4 for 5 with 4 RBI, and Yelich scored three runs as the Brewers offense dominated Reds pitching.

The Brewers are now 17-8 on the season, and will try to complete the sweep of the spiraling Cincinnati Reds on Thursday. The Reds are now 3-21 and they showed it by hitting three Brewers batters and committing two errors in the game. Luckily, all three batters that were hit for the Brewers (Cain, Adames, and McCutchen) all stayed in the game.

While Freddy Peralta didn’t have his best outing, he still went five innings and allowed just three earned runs. He struck out seven Reds batters while walking just two. When Freddy exited the game in the 6th inning, he left two runners on base for Trevor Gott. Gott didn’t allow either of them to score. Trevor has now inherited 9 runners this season, and hasn’t allowed any of them to score.

The Brewers are now 7-1 in their last 8 games. They will finish the series with the Reds at 12:40pm on Thursday.
