Bucks trade for Pelicans big man Nikola Mirotic

A report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski on Thursday indicated the Milwaukee Bucks traded Jason Smith, acquired in December from the Wizards, and Stanley Johnson, who was reportedly acquired by Detroit on Wednesday in exchange for Thon Maker, to the New Orleans Pelicans for Nikola Mirotic.

Additionally, the Pelicans will acquire four second-round draft picks as part of the trade.

Smith, who was added as part of a deal that sent Matthew Dellavedova and John Henson to Cleveland, played in only six games with the Bucks for a total of 40 minutes.

Johnson was reportedly acquired Wednesday in a trade with the Pistons in exchange for Thon Maker, but that transaction is now part of the three-way deal for Mirotic.

Mirotic, who played his first three seasons in Chicago before being traded to New Orleans midway through last season, is averaging over 16 points and eight rebounds per game . According to ESPN, by acquiring Mirotic, the Bucks join the Rockets as the only teams in the NBA with three players averaging six three-point attempts per game .
