Bucks blow out Wizards 148-129 for 40th win of the season

A 50-point first quarter and an 85-65 lead at halftime powered the Milwaukee Bucks to victory at Fiserv Forum on Wednesday over the Washington Wizards, 148-129. The 148 points scored represents a season high, and is also the seventh-highest scoring total in franchise history.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was his usual tour de force, scoring 43 points to lead Milwaukee. Eric Bledsoe added 22 and Malcolm Brogdon sprang for 18 as six Bucks reached double figures.

Bradley Beal led Washington with 30 points.

Earlier in the day Wednesday, it was announced that the Wizards had traded for former Bucks second-round pick Jabari Parker, who was with Chicago. Parker did not play against the Bucks.

Milwaukee takes its five-game winning streak to Texas on Friday night to battle the Dallas Mavericks, followed by a Saturday home date with Orlando before taking a short tour of the Central Division ahead of the All-Star break at Chicago and Indiana next week.

The Bucks are the first team to 40 wins in the NBA this season.
