Brewers Win Pitchers Duel 1-0 Over Marlins

It was quite the pitchers duel at American Family Field on Friday night as two of the leagues top pitchers squared off. Sandy Alcantara pitched for Miami and Corbin Burnes pitched for Milwaukee. In the end, one run was enough for the Brewers as they beat Miami 1-0 for a much needed victory.

Both pitchers dominated their opponents on Friday night. Corbin Burnes went eight innings, struck out seven Marlins, allowed four hits, and didn’t allow a run. Sandy Alcantara also pitched eight innings, struck out eight Brewers, allowed five hits, and allowed one run.

The one run came for Milwaukee in the sixth inning when Rowdy Tellez hit a sacrifice-fly to score Garrett Mitchell from third base. That would be the only run the Brewers needed. They won the game 1-0.

The Phillies also won their game on Friday, meaning the Brewers remain a half game behind the Phillies in the standings with five games left. Remember, the Brewers must finish ahead of the Phillies to earn the final playoff spot.

The Brewers will play the third game of the series against the Marlins on Saturday night at 6:10pm at AmFam Field. Listen to the Realty Executives Baseball Postgame Show on 97.3 The Game immediately following the game.
