Milwaukee Brewers All-Star pitcher Brandon Woodruff exited Sunday's win over the Arizona Diamondbacks with an oblique injury and will be placed on the 10-day injured list.
Woodruff is 11-3 in 2019 with a 3.53 ERA in 114 and two-thirds innings pitched. The All-Star has 133 strikeouts and only 27 walks this year.
The injury spoils what was a successful weekend series for the Brewers, taking three of four from Arizona. Milwaukee rallied from down 4-0 to win 7-4 over the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
In addition, with the team in the market for pitching help, the Brewers find themselves in perhaps even greater demand of an arm or two ahead of this month's trade deadline.
