For the third time in franchise history, the Milwaukee Brewers were swept in a five-game series, falling 7-6 to the Pittsburgh Pirates in extra innings on Sunday afternoon. The loss was Milwaukee's sixth in a row, the longest losing streak in baseball.
As rain fell in the bottom of the tenth inning, Pittsburgh's Josh Bell hit the game-winner to allow the Pirates to walk-off the Brewers in extra innings. It's the third extra-innings loss for the Brewers during this eight-game road trip ahead of the All-Star break, which they finish with a record of 1-7.
Milwaukee also enters the All-Star break 2.5 games back of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central, but a game up on Atlanta for the first Wild Card spot and a game and a half ahead of Arizona for the second Wild Card spot.
