Brewers fall in opening game of Pirates series, 6-3

Jesús Aguilar hit a solo home run, but it wasn't enough as the Milwaukee Brewers fell 6-3 to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night to open up a five games-in-four days stretch between the teams.

Wade Miley returned from the DL to strike out five in five innings, allowing two runs and exiting with a 2-1 deficit on the scoreboard. Adrian Houser pitched the next two innings, giving up four runs on five hits while issuing three walks. Alec Asher worked a scoreless ninth.

Junior Guerra will pitch for the Brewers on Friday. The teams play a doubleheader on Saturday before wrapping up the series on Sunday before the All-Star break.
