Chicago Sky rookie forward Angel Reese extended her WNBA record for consecutive double-doubles to 14 games in the final seconds of her team's 78-69 win against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday (July 10).

Reese, 22, finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds, which included scoring her final four points in the last 25 seconds of regulation, including her 10th on her first of two made free throw attempts with 6.1 seconds remaining. Chicago led by seven when Reese called for the ball in the post, at which point Atlanta's Tina Charles fouled her despite the game being out of hand with six seconds remaining.

Reese recorded 17 points and 14 rebounds during the Sky's 84-71 loss to the Seattle Storm on Sunday (July 7), breaking Candace Parker's previous WNBA record for double-doubles set between the 2009 and 2010 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks. The former LSU standout entered Wednesday's game averaging 14.1 points and 11.9 rebounds through the first 20 games of her rookie season.

Reese and her longtime rival, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, were the only two rookies selected to the 12-player Team WNBA that will face the USA Basketball women's national team at the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game on on July 20 ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the league announced last week. The two rookies' collegiate rivalry played a key role in the sudden spike in women's basketball's popularity and both are in consideration for the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
