Badgers Pull Off Gritty 61-58 Win Over Oregon To Advance to NIT Semifinals

The Wisconsin Badgers are moving on to the Final Four of the NIT after a 61-58 victory over the Oregon Ducks in Eugene.

With Oregon missing their top three leading scorers, the bulk of their offense was led by Keeshawn Barthelemy and Quincy Guerrier, who combined for 29 points.

Wisconsin was able to take a 27-26 lead into halftime but found some struggles in the second half, going through stretches of 1-15 on field goal attempts followed by a 1-12 stretch. While those stretches have doomed the Badgers many times this season, a cold stretch from Oregon late coupled with 5 consecutive shots made by Wisconsin including two huge three pointers from Max Klesmit and Chucky Hepburn to give the Badgers leads secured the win.

Max Klesmit led the way in scoring for Wisconsin with 18 points, followed by 12 points from Chucky Hepburn and 9 points each for Connor Essegian and Steven Crowl.

Next up for Wisconsin is the North Texas Mean Green in the NIT Semifinals in Las Vegas next week Tuesday.
