The two-division setup changes how the state tournament will be run, and while it crowds the Division 1 field for state berths, it also allows the Division 2 field to shine on the sport's highest stage at the high school level.
Also, there's incredible depth to most of the premiere divisions in hockey in Wisconsin, both in boys and girls hockey, and already this early in the season, anticipation builds towards holiday showcases and prime pairings of the top Wisconsin teams this winter.
