2019 WIAA Girls Soccer State Championship Preview

THE TOURNAMENT: The 37th Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Girls Soccer Tournament will take place Thursday-Saturday, June 13-15, at KOHLER Engines Stadium at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, Wis. Ticket prices are $8 per session and $1 for children 6-years old or younger. Tickets are available at the venue.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:The single-elimination tournament features four teams in each of the four divisions. Below are the seeds, pairings and time schedule of games.

Division 1

Friday, June 14

#1 Waunakee (18-2-2) vs. #4 Muskego (15-4-2) - 11 a.m.

#2 Bay Port (21-2) vs. #3 Divine Savior Holy Angels (13-6-4) - 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15

Championship Game - 4:35 p.m.

Division 2

Thursday, June 13

#1 Whitefish Bay (23-1) vs. #4 Marshfield (14-7-2) - 4:30 p.m.

#2 Oregon (16-0-1) vs. Brookfield East (8-12-1) - 7 p.m.

Saturday, June 15

Championship Game - 1:35 p.m.

Division 3

Thursday, June 13

#1 Catholic Memorial (23-4-1) vs. #4 Ashland (20-2-2) - 11 a.m.

#2 Edgewood (17-2-2) vs. #3 Notre Dame (13-6-3) - 1:30 p.m.

Saturday, June 15

Championship Game - 11 a.m.

Division 4

Friday, June 14

#1 The Prairie School (16-3-2) vs. #4 Kettle Moraine Lutheran (14-11) - 4:30 p.m.

#2 Oostburg (18-1-3) vs. St. Mary Catholic (18-5) - 7 p.m.

Saturday, June 15

7:05 p.m. - Championship Game

Game 2 of each session are scheduled approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.

SEMIFINAL GAMES STREAMED LIVE: The semifinals of all four divisions of the WIAA State Girls Soccer Tournament will be streamed live on the WIAA.TV portal of the NFHS Network on a consumer subscription basis. To purchase a subscription to the live programming, log-on to www.wiaa.tv or www.nfhsnetwork.com and click on the subscription image near the top of the page.

FINALS AIRED LIVE ON FS WISCONSIN: Watch the WIAA State Girls Soccer Tournament finals of all four divisions live on either FS Wisconsin or FS Wisconsin Plus. The Division 3 championship final will be aired at 11 a.m. on FS Wisconsin, and the Divisions 2 and 1 title games will be aired on FS Wisconsin Plus at 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., respectively. The Division 4 final will air on FS Wisconsin at 7 p.m. Check local cable listings for the channel in your area. The tournament finals will also be streamed live on the FoxSportGo.com. Authenticate with your provider’s username and password to access the streams.

TOURNEY NOTES: Catholic Memorial has captured the State crown a membership-leading 10 times. Whitefish Bay has won eight titles, and Brookfield Central has won six championships with Madison West possessing five titles. Divine Savior Holy Angels, Homestead and Ozaukee have each claimed four championships. Whitefish Bay now has 20 State Tournament appearances to lead all programs. Neenah and Catholic Memorial have qualified 15 times with Brookfield Central qualifying 14 times. Next on the list are Madison Memorial, Madison West and Notre Dame with 12, and Homestead and Xavier have qualified for the tourney 11 times. 

LAST YEAR: Bay Port was crowned champion in Division 1 with a 3-1 victory over Sheboygan North in the title game. Brookfield Central won the Division 2 championship with a 2-0 shutout victory over Oregon in the championship game. In Division 3, Notre Dame put an end to a six-year run of championships for Catholic Memorial by blanking the Crusaders 1-0 in the championship final. Kenosha St. Joseph was the champion in Division 4 following a 2-1 win over Cedar Grove-Belgium in the title game.
