Markus Howard scored 45 points to help Marquette defeat #12 Kansas State 83-71 on Saturday. It was Howard's second-highest career single-game point total (52).
The home win improved the Golden Eagles' record to 6-2.
The only other Marquette player in double figures was Sacar Anim, who had 16. No other Golden Eagle had more than five points.
Four Kansas State players reached double figures, led by 12 points apiece from Xavier Sneed and Makol Mawien.
The win was the third in eight straight home games for Marquette. Next up is UTEP on Tuesday, with the annual rivalry game against Wisconsin set for Saturday, December 8 at Fiserv Forum.
