Andrew Rowsey to take part in Final Four events

The 2018 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships roster is finalized, Intersport announced today. The 30th annual event, which will showcase the dunking and long-range shooting talents of 24 of the country’s premier college basketball players, will air live on ESPN2 at 8 p.m. CT on March 29 from Bill Greehey Arena at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio.

Former San Antonio Spurs stars George Gervin, Sean Elliott and Bruce Bowen will judge the Dunkin’ Donuts Slam Dunk Championship along with former NBA player and slam dunk champion Nate Robinson and former NBA player and current ESPN personality Jay Williams.

Intersport, producers of the event, annually invites 24 of the nation’s elite men’s and women’s college basketball players to compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships (eight dunkers, along with eight men’s and eight women’s shooters). The program showcases the dunking and sharp-shooting talents of the nation’s top college basketball players during the Great Clips Men’s 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Marine’s Women’s 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Samsung Battle of the Champions, the Dunkin’ Donuts Slam Dunk Championship and the Applebee’s Team Shootout.

Max Pearce of Purchase College earned a spot in the Dunkin’ Donuts Slam Dunk Championship by winning the State Farm “Dark Horse Dunker” competition, a digital media fan voting contest. After 370,596 fan votes were cast over four weeks, Pearce was selected to compete in the contest.

Over the last 29 years, several of the top players in college basketball have competed in the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships including: Gary Payton, Steve Nash, Jason Terry, Kyle Korver, Bobby Hurley, Michael Finley, Damon Stoudamire, Allan Houston, Denzel Valentine, Yogi Ferrell, Wes Matthews, Cappie Pondexter, Katie Gearlds, and Kristi Toliver.
