Madison - Steve Stricker has made it very clear in 2013 his desire to spend less time on the golf course, playing in fewer tournaments to be able to spend more time with his family. Now, the 12-time PGA Tour winner may get more rest due to an injury.

On Monday, Stricker spoke about a recent hamstring injury during his weekly radio show "Talking Golf" on The Big 1070 in Madison and The Big 920 in Milwaukee.

Stricker said the injury occurred about eight days ago, during the weekend of July 20-21.

Having skipped this year's British Open Championships, Stricker has not played since tying for tenth at the John Deere Classic. He does plan to play at this week's World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio. He took second at this event last year.
