Kix Brooks and Luke Bryan are taking part in the festivities surrounding this weekend's Kentucky Derby. Louisville's "Courier-Journal" says Kix will be headlining the Derby Eve Jam, taking place at the Tricia Barnstable Brown mansion Friday night.
Greg Bates will serve as the opener for the show, which is part of the 25th anniversary Barnstable Brown Gala. Bryan is on board for Unbridled Eve. The country singer is headlining the fundraiser, which this year is supporting the childhood hunger charity Blessings in a Backpack and other organizations.
Jo Dee Messina and Alabama's Randy Owen are also expected to attend the event, along with former NFL star Warren Moon, racing legend A.J. Foyt, actors Anthony Anderson and Jane Seymour, and others. Unbridled Eve is set to take place at the Galt House Hotel Friday night.
Martina McBride will be taking part in the Kentucky Derby itself. She's slated to sing the national anthem as part of the pre-race events. NBC's coverage of the 139th Kentucky Derby will begin Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
